I had a great time. I travelled to the festival with Hangar Arts Trust, AirTime circus artists Danilo, Gemma, Clara & Alcina in my little Peugeot 206 in true contorted fashion with all our stuff and camping gear. I’m not sure how we all fit but somehow we made it work. Fun times!

Barrels number (tap dancers): involves jumping over, into and onto barrels, dancing on them and in them as well as banging them with sticks…
3 out of 4 of us have recently switched to using bigger sticks for banging the barrels in the number but we’ve not really had a chance to practice with the music or on stage before the show. On Thursday it didn’t go too badly for me – I got out of the barrel with the sticks and made the quick transition to the drumming section. Friday was different story though:

A barrel of laughs: part 1
I’m in fits on laughter at having got stuck in a barrel in the middle of a number live on stage! The other dancers certainly found it funny too. We’re currently mid-way through the fifth show at the fifth venue on the fifth day. So far we’ve clocked up over 18 hours of travelling. I’m settling into the routine, as much as you can, for travelling every day, performing at a different venue each evening and sleeping at a different hotel each night.
Right now I need to get changed for the next number on boxes so let’s hope I don’t fall off!
