BITES: Remix

It was great to return to The Albany in Deptford for Upswing and The Albany’s BITES: Remix. Amongst the wonderful acts of Unusual Circus Fusions I performed a rhythmical collaboration with the talented percussionist and vocalist, Devaki Thomas, on a newly created “improvographical” piece called Rhythm Talks.

Rhythm Talks – An improvisational collaboration between two different rhythm-based performers
With Devaki on a drum and vocals using bols (a mnemonic syllable used in Indian music) and myself on taps we played and had lots of fun with an organic, rhythmical conversation.

Many thanks to Vicki Amedume of Upswing and the supportive staff of The Albany for a great evening.

BITES: Remix returns for a fifth instalment of unusual artistic collaborations. Outstanding circus acts connect with musicians, dancers, poets and a host of other artists to produce a one-night-only showcase of body-bending, heart-stopping talent.

BITES: Remix is curated by Upswing, an Albany Associate Artist
